What folks are saying about Southpaw Construction...

"I would recommend Southpaw Construction without hesitation. He looked at our project and did a very complete bid. His attention to detail saved us a great deal of time and money and best yet he followed through on everything he said he was going to do. Although there have been very few glitches with the building, Don was at the front door as soon as they came to light and they were fixed immediately. If I were going to build another building Don would be first on my list!" - Ted H. Paso Robles

"Going into the design and build aspects of my family’s dream home, I had heard many warnings about how stressful and difficult the process can be – turning a dream into a nightmare.  Working with Southpaw Construction not only resulted in a dream come true, but the process itself was enlightening, enjoyable, and even fun.  Don McAdam has a wonderful rapport with his subcontractors, clients, and City/County officials.  It starts with Don having his priorities in place and a strong sense of humility balanced by his creativity, work-ethic, experience, and sense of humor.  Don listens and performs.  He is sensitive to budgets and the artistic vision of his clients.  He engages the best and most cost-effective resources to bring the vision to fruition.  I highly recommend that Southpaw Construction be given serious consideration for any design and/or build construction project." - Geoff M. Paso Robles

"Working with Southpaw to achieve our "dream space" was 100% positive. Don McAdam maintains the highest professional and ethical standards for himself and the subcontractors he employs. The best recommendation we can give is that we would gladly hire Southpaw again." - Kathi D.  Atascadero

"I live in a little jewel of a house. One percent of my good fortune is due to luck and the other ninety-nine percent is due to my having chosen Don McAdam (Southpaw Design and Construction) as my contractor. I started my search for a contractor with 3 names which I showed to a friend who was also a city building inspector. He suggested that I add Don’s name to my list. I called all 4 contractors and Don called me back the next day, one contractor called a week later and two never called me back at all. After meeting Don, I felt that he was one of the nicest people I’d ever met--easy to talk to, full of good ideas and suggestions and soon after our meeting, he presented me with a very specific and detailed proposal. We shook hands and soon began construction on “The Little House in the Pasture.” Many of the good design ideas and finish details of my house were suggested by Don. There were several things that needed to be changed as the house was built, and those changes happened easily and quickly. Don always called me when he said he would, presented bills and itemized statements in a timely manner and I never worried about any aspect of construction. His good relationship with his subcontractors (all people who were excellent craftsmen) made the building process a joy". - Sally D.  Atascadero

Dear Don: As you are aware, the twenty-six unit townhouse apartments we manage here in Paso Robles had an emergency landing and stainruay that need to be replaced. The landing was more than 3 stories higher than the parking lot below, and did not meet current building/safety standards.. After securing engineered plans for the design of a replacement landing and stairway, we were required to get competitive bids for the demolition and construction work involved. We found that your company's bid was almost 30% less than the other qualified bidder. Your crew kept their schedules and were always courteous, helpful and very professional in their work. The whole process went more smoothly than we could have imagined. We expected at least some complaints from the tenants, but were pleasantly surprised when there were none. After such a successful experience with your company, we also had you remodel our office to meet current accessibility requirements for the exterior entrance and reception areas. Among other details, this involved moving the location of the front door, removing a wall in the reception area, removing and replacing the exterior walkway and landing, and installing handrails. Once again we were very impressed with the care you and your work crew gave us. This project actually came in under budget and allowed us to replace more of the old floor covering than we originally anticipated being able to do. Dealing with your company has been a real pleasure. We would be happy to speak to anyone considering using your services, if they would like a personal recommendation. Sincerely, CRESTON MANAGEMENT COMPANY
